Guest
to anyone who might contemplate a cycling holiday in the canaries, i have recently returned from 2 weeks in tenerife (las americas) the weather is perfect for cycling, the roads once out of town are terrific although a lot of climbing is called for bbut as the spanish road engineers must be bikies the are made with the gradients rising steadily and consistently and great surfaces. i had already met a group of ex pat belgiums and reacquainted myself with them, they are a great bunch of guys as they made me very welcome to their sometimes 20 strong group who rode every day!! arround 30_ 40 miles at a reasonable pace and all regrouped at the top of the climbs, there was always a wee sprint. this group left the village of las galletas at 9.30 each day. one complaint the airline Iberworld took £50 for the bike! monty
