  3. if you are serious about looking for another cross chalange, i have one that i have wanted to do for a few years. it would possably be slightly tougher than to days paddle.

over the erskine bridge straight on up the hill on the road and track to loch humphry, the track is good but steep, keep heading north over the moors to fyn loch, pond wood, duncryne road, old school road, old millatary road(a811),then hove via balloch.

it would be a belter of a ride/carry

  4. i tried a similar run last year trying to get from the mine to misty law, there are NO tracks after the mine not even sheep trails,i ended up lost and was up and down gullies over and in bogs, after an hour and a half i came out half way down the hill to muirshiel, not exactly as i planned. that was in the summer and i was coverd in bog juce 3/4 of the way up my legs.I would sujest that unless you know the route take a compas and dont put me at the front. I am well up for it but prepared to get wet very wet.

  5. I had only tried to come up with a flatish run of 60 mls, i dont mind where we go, i will go with the flow as they say.I did however check the weather for Balmaha on sunday and they are saying 80 degrees and a tail wind of 20mph there and it seems to change at 12.30 to 20mph on the way back.BUT if it has to be largs in the rain then so be it.

  6. i am intending to head over the brige ,into drymen and up the loch side to Balmaha, there is a good bar/caffe there or 4 or 5 in drymen. the run should be around 60 miles and fairly flat.We can detour on the way back and do some hills if required.
