  1. Thanks for your reply Lance. You do seem a very friendly Bunch Tomorrow is dodgy for me but I am hopeful to be there on Sunday for the 30 mile thing if I don't have an anxiety and nerve attack of being slow and well off the pace! Thanks again
  2. Thank you so so much! You're probably right on two counts - getting in and amongst it with the Bunch AND doing so while summer is still with us. I made a boob in my post: when I asked about cycling groups, I meant cycling courses - to help me get less wobbly. I don't fancy going to a cycling proficiency with all the 5 and 6 year olds Thanks so much again.
  3. Hello all, I am VERY new to cycling (I just bought my first bike last week at the ripe old age of 38) after my shoddy bio-mechanics have made me give the running a break for the time being. I am keen to use cycling to a) meet people and remain fit. I'm a little apprehensive about joining a Sunday 30 miler as I am still a little wobbly and have been sticking to cycle paths. I'm looking to get on one of the NCN routes this weekend to practice looking round, drinking water etc without falling off. I was looking for some advice on: a) whether the 30 mile groups be too much and too intimidating for a first-timer? I am moderately fit but nervous. does anyone know of adult cycling groups locally? I'm in Paisley. Many thanks Andy
