  1. Hi

Received an email from the Access Officer from East Renfrewshire, this is similar to Mr Mullholand's thread a year or so back "Gleniffer Braes Country Park, - MTB Consultation". East Renfrew are interested in developing some areas for mountain bikers and are looking to consult with interested parties and get some feedback on what we would like.

The two areas mentioned incluced a small skills / pump track in Barrhead and something a bit more significant at Whitelees Windfarm. :icon_yes

I'm all for this means my council tax is being sent on educating my children and infilling the pot holes.:grin:

If you have any views, can you post here and I'll collate to send back to them?

  2. Great wee app having fun on commute now dodging estate cars and sprinting past diagios in Renfrew ;-)

Alan geek in the corner here.

Once you've found a bit of road not claimed by Duncan ride it, go home and upload session. On the Strava website look at the ride dtat and go to bottom right hand corner and click on the "Create a New Segment". It's simples from there on in.

  3. Another solution would be to give it a hose down when you are giving the bike a post race bit of TLC.

This gets a lot of the ingrained mud of and doesn't clog up the washing machine and gains some brownie points, sometimes results in visiting cycling kit drawer on Sunday morning to find kit in pristine condition, clean, folded and smelling fresh.

  4. Was over that way a couple years back and managed to climb up some of the Col's :-o with Richard B over a long weekend.

We got up deux Alps, d'Izoard and others.

From memeory deux Alps can be done from d'Oisans in an afternoon.

The day we bagged d'Izoard was icon_bounce_3 . Started at Briancion and climed over d'Izoard and past Coppi's memorial down into Guillestre and then back into Briancon. This loop done in reverse would be just as scenic.

The view from in fast lane was great.

Loads of smooth tarmac shame the rest of the roads weren't as good. Even got a couple of stretches of strada bianchi, i think this will be gone by the time the McLean panzer runs down the road at full gaz ;-);-)

Managed to make a round trip with Cameron and clocked up about 30 odd miles returning via Clydebank.

    Big G
