  1. well done that's impressive! especially the 7 miles of carrying in 2.5 hours, we took 3 and we had trainers for that bit... we left at midnight, got to inversnaid at first light for the rough bit. tho we hadn't cycled from the kinghouse first...
  2. well how did it go? gorey details please, we are hoping to redo it in sep for charity
  3. sorry i can't help support you. the cow mess was only a big issue around crainlarich where the WHW goes up left over the hill avoiding crainlarich past a farm, the track was covered in liquid cow poo... are you eating gels for 15 hours? we stopped for pasta/bacon rolls etc (we had support) but are keen to re do it on gels/not really stopping. september... might be worth getting a bell, cos there can be a lot of walkers on the track. we were fairly oblivious to them by the last descent, i think a few got a bit of a fright, and we were not very clean either by that point
  4. good luck! we did the west highland way 2 years ago in a oner, but no road stuff on top, hats off etc... watch out for cow sh1t on your water bottles
  5. hi, got a mate who is waiting for his work to sort out their cycle to work scheme... to get him on the road he is looking for a cheap steel frame bike, or frame i have a few bits'n'bobs lying about. cheers eddie
  6. well done howie! suspect there might be a lot more people there next year
  7. website now saying midday monday last year it was about 0730 in the morning....
  8. the renfrew ferry doesn't start till 0900 ish on a sunday but maybe its better now. clyde (cycle) tunnel is ok as long as the glass from the night before has been swept out, they do that pretty early. the erskine bridge is the most scenic but a fair way
  9. hi, for the guys i met at the audax who are doing the etape, here are all the descents.... (see you there!) http://www.cyclefilm.com/letape07uncut.html
  10. hi, seb broke his femur last week, so i have a spare place in a car, from carcassonne airport to foix, from loudenvielle to foix after the race, and back to the airport or any part of that. my driving's not as bad as my cycling.... flying out ryanair sat am from liverpool 14th and returning 17th am from carcassonne. i believe there is a shuttle bus from loudenvielle to foix on sunday 15th for folk leaving cars at the end. if any one is interested please post, or if you know of anyone etc cheers eddie
