  1. Game on Monday at Lochwinnoch. Try to be there well before the 7.00 kick off.
  2. Lochwinnoch again today. 7.00pm start.
  3. Game on 7.00pm on Friday in Lochwinnoch. Can you let me know who will be playing so we can arrange enough bikes to be there? Alan Russell Alasdair Pat Fergus Ian? Tony? Martin?
  4. The team is all set for this weekend's tournament in Kent. Still room for one more player if anyone is interested. Entry fee is £30 which includes food & entertainment and camping available at the playing fields. Leaving Friday pm and back around midnight on Sunday. (there is also a bar which will be open most of the time but we don't want to encourage that kind of thing)
  5. Martin can't make it due to rowing champs. Russell has let me know that he should make it. I've been emailing Gaz to keep him updated on the situation & he has confirmed that they have spare players that they can lend us. I think four should be enough to travel with. We have to decide whether to add just a goalie from England/Ireland for each game or to add one or two players to our squad for the whole time. What do you think? Its always good to get plenty of game time but on the other hand we may be glad of a sub, especially on the Sunday. I'll check the format with Gaz to try to get an idea of how many games we'll need to play and how long each one is.
  6. Very sad news about Wullie. As Kenny said he was a real character, always friendly and very cheery, and happy to blether to anyone in the club. Even when I joined the club back in the 80's Wullie's stories & talk of drum ups and 'spots' seemed like something from a different era as this was a part of club life that we never experienced. It was his love of the bike - along with the fact that he was still so active - that was most noticeable about him back then. In the 25 years I've been in and around the club I never once heard a bad word said about Wullie.
  7. No game this week. I'm away next Friday but is anyone else able to play & we'll try to organise something?
  8. Anyone able to play this Friday (21st)? Nothing sorted re time or place yet but if we can get enough bodies I'm sure we'll find a pitch.
  9. Gaz has confirmed that the tournament will go ahead on the weekend of the 12th & 13th of June. If we are taking part then we'll have to travel down on the Friday and return on Sunday after the games. Is anyone interested in playing in this event? So far Alan & myself look pretty definite to play as long as we can get another 2 or 3 to make up a team. Alan has volunteered to use his car and reckons he'll get enough bikes in/on it. The best bet for accommodation might be the Travelodge we stayed in two years ago as it is only 5 minutes from Vigo rugby club where the games are being played. Let me know what you think. ps Don't let the fact that England are playing USA on the Saturday night put you off going!
  10. Last game on the astroturf. Let's try to get a decent turnout.
  11. Game on again this week. Only one more game on the astroturf after this one so try to get along.
  12. Forecast is for 7 degrees at 6.00pm so game should be on.
  13. Game on (weather permitting). I'm not about this week. Who will be playing?
  14. Sports Centre phoned Norma, who phone Kenny, who phoned me to say game is off due to frozen pitch.
  15. Game on at Linwood. 6.15 for 6.30. Tony if you want to pm me with a mobile number I'll add you to my list. I usually send a text reminder/confirmation about the game during Friday or let everyone know if the game is cancelled late on. Anyone else playing?
  16. Heater isn't working but don't sweat it, nearly summer. I never got 'round to putting your bike in my shed in November but it has been safe in the back garden (who would steal it?). You might want to bring some oil with you though.
  17. I'm sure we can find a bike for you Tony. Might not be a carbon fibre frame though. Do you want a lift Alan?
  18. Great game last week! Who'll be playing this Friday?
  19. Game on at Linwood. Temp not going near freezing so game will be on this week
  20. Linwood Sports Centre as usual. Hopefully another good turnout like last week. Everyone's welcome including absolute beginners. You don't need a bike or a mallet but shin pads can be a good idea - you might go a year without a bump on the shin but better safe than sorry. Fergus won't be about for a while due to injury (not polo related).
  21. Game on at Linwood. It has been a long time since the last game but pitch is finally playable and weather forecast is pretty good. Who'll be playing this week?
  22. Just phoned the Sports Centre. The pitch is still completely covered in a thick layer of snow and ice. Hopefully clear by next week!
