Aaaaand the good news is that the committee is considering a reduced programme of confined events starting from mid July, subject to guidance from SC/BC. The current view from that level is that club events won't be sanctioned until August. So, we can't say for certain right now when, or even if, a programme will take place, but the general principle will be that we will attempt to run the league of 10, the chocolate series, and the hilly TT series in a reduced format. Turn up, race go home. No holders. Results will be published when the timekeeper uploads them. Further updates to follow when more info becomes available.

  2. Not sure of the details yet but I am planning on riding out to the first climb on stage 1 of the TOB from Carnwath. Not sure of the distance yet, guess it will be a round trip of 55 - 60 miles, anybody who wants to join me are more than welcome and I'm sure I can sort out some sandwiches and cakes afterwards :)

We've never met so I don't know how tall you are but if your in the tall range then I have a Scott full suspension bike that I was about to sell, its had its fair share of knocks around the 7 stanes centres with a corresponding amount of fun. Would be a great replacement if you want to try more mountain biking but want to avoid forking out on a new bike

    Cheers

Didn't realise there were other JWCC's there or I would have looked out for you, well done for getting round.

Like you this was my first sportive and had no idea what the event would be like. The route and marshalling was far better than I was expecting and pulling myself away from the feed stops was difficult as the food was excellant.

In my rashness, having done these sort of distances many years ago, I went for the full distance!! 105 miles later and well over 7000 feet of climbing I finally finished totally spent but had a great day, I'm sure we were up and down every significant climb in the borders!!

For all those that want a climbing challenge this is the event to do next year

  5. Assuming that I can get across in time I might have a go at these to remind myself what its like to race.

Do the time bands apply to the last 3 years or life time bests? and how many of the events are needed to count towards the series?

I tend to ride a mixture of red and black trails with some blue thrown in for Sharon. This way go can avoid some of the busiest sections but stil get a good run in but it all depends on who wants to ride and their experience, we can sort out the final route on the day.

  7. Now that the summer is almost over who fancies a different day in the saddle. Sure some of you have been before but Glentress offers a different way to have a lot of fun and still have a good work out.

Would there be any interest for a club run at Glentress on either the weekend after Millport (23rd September) or the week after 30th September. Those that don't have a mountain bike can easy hire one at the bike shop on site although forward booking is needed
