  1. Hi guys noy been about in a while but now got the bike and a few others blockers sorted out and now ready to get out and join you. I was looking in the club run section and there doesn't seem to be any chat about a 30miler this weekend and was just wondering if anything wss planned?
  2. Hi guys. Had a look at the bike last night and the cassette is only a 6 speed so what would I need to change in order to make this an 8/9 speed with sti levers. Rear derailer is a definite I guess but what about the front and or the rear wheel?
  3. Thanks for the warm welcome Guys but woo woo woo woo woo........Hawd the bus the 30 milers sometimes do 65miles????? lol Also the 105 groupset I have it perfectly servicable at the moment and the only bit I really feel the need to change are the levers to have brakes and gears together what are the chances of this being possible with my exsisting setup? Sorry for the noob questions!
  4. First of all Hello! Secondly thanks to whoever saw my fb post and sorted out my access quick and efficient good job! Now down to business. I used to do a bit of cycling and and hoping to get back into it alongside some of you guys. My aim is in a couple of weeks to join up with the Sunday morning 30miler (easy group?) which brings me to my question..... What kind of pace does this group keep? Just trying to decide if i need to improve my fitness first or if I'll manage to hang onto the back sucking someones wheel!! The reason it will be a couple of weeks is that I currently don't have a suitable bike ( I hope my wife doesn't read this as she will question what the 3 in the garage are for?!?!). So need to get a new groupset ordered and fitted to the an old 531 bike i have that currently has a very old 105 groupset complete with downtube shifters that I seem to have forgotten how to ride and are liable to make me crash. So thats me for now but looking forward to getting some chat with you guys and meeting a few of you in a few weeks time. PS the other 2 bike are an old trek mountain bike and a recently refurbed 1978 (older than me) Claude Butler that I had powder coated and I built up as a fixie that will be my commuting bike once my office gets the shower situation sorted. PPS this is a really long first post. PPPS Really need to stop now!
