I've tried a few on the Android system, the one I always go back to is Cardio Trainer. Its a GPS based system that provides a record of your ride/run etc, incl average/max/minimum speed and auto pause. it gives an overlay onto a map and gives an approximation as to total climbimg as well as the ability to give you splits (per minute).
It also has the bonus of auto pause (ideal for cake stops!!).
the app has proved reliable ie no crashes/freezes to date although i don't know if its available on iphone

I gotta admit i prefer the idea of Meadowbank (well London really) but can def see the sense in getting our act together at all levels for Glasgow opening
Btw, should anyone hear of a track frameset for sale (57cm or thereabouts), feel free to get in touch. I've discovered numerous "bargains" on eBay over the last few months, only for the price to skyrocket at the last-minute. This hankering for the boards may yet prove to be a whim so I don't want to spend a fortune.guessed it was you that keeps putting the price up then

"Johnstone Wheelers Edinburgh Chapter"
If any other parents etc are going through with their kids to Ingilston this Saturday & Sunday and are interested in trying some new roads through that way let me know.
Would be ideal to get out for a few hours each day, after all these kids are getting harder and harder to keep up with
Richard
btw don't have a clue where to go, suggestions welcome (polite ones please)

Part of cunning plan involves reviewing my diet:
Breakfast - Copious amounts of coffee laced with Jack Daniels
Lunch - Imported Spanish Meat followed by coffee and Jack Daniels
Dinner - Pigeon Pie starter with Spanish Meat Main followed by coffee and Jack Daniels
Supper- Jack Daniels followed by sex, sex and more sex
Did I ever tell you I had an unborn twin???????
Colin

Scotrail are having a lie in on Sunday, no trains before 9, so will have to drive up.
Let me know what time suits, maybe 8:30 for a happy sensible balance between getting off early and being able to stay in bed til an almost sensible time

Copied from Braveheart
Didn't know where to stick this message:Call to all racing cyclists who either live in Renfrewshire or race for a Renfrewshire based team. I'm starting a cycling column in the Paisley Daily Express and I'm looking for news and race results- basically anything that can be related to Paisley and the surrounding area.
I've not raced for a good few years so any help would be appreciate.
If you have anything to report email me
Cheers

Guess the route starting and finishing at the Club Rooms would be in the region of 80-85 miles, if we go the whole way round.
A few options to cut it shorter should time etc prove a problem eg heading from Fintry along to Killearn
I will meet at bridge if we decide to go with this route, happy to meet there at whatever time suits everyone else.

How about over the Crow, Top of the World, Drymen, Queens View and back. as an alternative.
However happy to go with any good ideas
