  1. Not too impressed with the BBC coverage to date but maybe they will do better tonight!!

Here is a link to the report for Saturday's races which show our win in the 1km time trial in a new world record time of 1:09.054.

We were disappointed to only qualify for the bronze ride in the pursuit yesterday but we rode our socks off to secure the bronze medal in a faster time of 3:38.196 than we rode to win Gold in Beijing. It was also faster than the Irish rode to win the Silver medal!

    Thanks Hello, beer !!

  2. Just to let you know that the Track World Championships are taking place in Manchester this year from the 6th to the 8th November. Ellen and I will be riding the 1km time trial on Saturday the 7th in the evening session and the pursuit qualifier on the 8th in the morning and hopefully the pursuit final in the afternoon.

If anyone would like to come and watch then please let me know and I can get you some tickets.

This is the link to the official website if you want further information http://new.britishcycling.org.uk/paracy ... Schedule-0

  3. It would have been better to have spent more time riding with my pilot on the road prior to this event but Ellen did a fantastic job handling the tandem on the corners and dealing with some erratic bike handling by some of the other riders.

Neither of us had any prior road racing experience so although I am disappointed not have medalled I think we did alright for our first attempt. Hello, beer !!

  4. Absolutely delighted to have won the 2 gold medals. A bit of pressure on us yesterday not qualifying fastest but both Ellen and I believed we had more left in the tank to win the second gold. We lost the gold to Lindy Hou in Athens in the sprint and we weren't going to let that happen a second time around.

Thanks for all your support and best wishes.

Hope to get to see some other sports and do a bit of sight seeing before I come home.

    Cheers

    Aileen

  6. Ellen and I rode at a demonstration event during the World Championships a couple of weeks ago and set a new World Record in the 1km TT of 1:10.381. Oh ya dancer !Oh ya dancer !

We were really pleased as we didn't peak for this event.

We will be riding the 1km TT and the 3km pursuit at the Paralympic World Cup in Manchester on the 8th and 9th of May. BBC are covering this event.

    Aileen

  7. Thanks guys!

Absolutely delighted to have retained my 1km title but totally amazed at having won the pursuit. We did no specific pursuit training and didn't have a schedule to follow, we just went out and tried to hold around 18s laps. I still can't believe it. Oh ya dancer !Oh ya dancer !Oh ya dancer !
