San Miguel Injury
Just wondering if anyone from the club has or is going to enter this. It's not cheap, but I have heard it's good fun and sells out quickly!
alexb
Loads of JWCC have done this one. Its a good route, but very busy. Worth a club outing some day as the roads are empty normally. Roberto
2023 Subscriptions DavidC Posted November 9, 2016 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted November 9, 2016 Hi Allan, i have did it the last 3 years, has been good fun especially if you get some decent weather. You have to register in person in Pitlochry the day before the race, so that has involved an overnight stay. Which was another expense..... This year I am pushing the boat out and doing a bike trip to Majorca instead of a trip to Pitlochry graemew
San Miguel Injury
Just a wee update. Ross, Kaz and Jaki R are all signed up for the Caledonia etape. Jaki has created a JWCC team if anybody else is keen to sign up. George, EricL and JaneF
2023 Subscriptions charlie p Posted November 20, 2016 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted November 20, 2016 Good luck it's a cracking run. You should do drumlanrig challenge which is normally 2 weeks before this event.
2023 Subscriptions XXX Posted November 20, 2016 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted November 20, 2016 It's a great course but second the Drumlanrig it's great prep and done in two parts 60 miles , lunch cakes then back out for last 40 if you want or feel like it
2023 Subscriptions George Posted November 20, 2016 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted November 20, 2016 Etape Caledonia is very good fun. Drumlanrig is one 80 mile ride for 2017 tho, bit of a shame as I enjoyed stuffing my face after 1st & 2nd saunter. That said, I'd like to ride it as it's a great circuit & the scoff is 2nd to none ðŸ°ðŸ¦ðŸ©

Roberto
Did the Etape in '13 & '14 but not since price hike to £85 (from £63!) Confirmed Drumlanrigger now.
Ross R
Myself, Kaz H, Jaki Robson, Joe Murray and Glen Irving rode the Etape today in club colours and a time of 4 hours 38mins. Cracking route well signposted, weather was ok bit dull but we had a great day. Good company, good fun and really enjoyed it.
