Ok Martin,

Looks like a nice compact group of 8 riders:

Paul McD

Darryl McG

Robbie

Davie B

Iain Mctavish

Al Yuill

Simon Simpson

Simon's friend

(+ a couple of maybes)

Saturday 6th June, 8.00 for 8.30 roll out at the Troutbeck Inn (off the A66)

just searched this out:

Duncan and I took almost 10 hours including a spoke breakage and a few punctures, in snow, in March.

I have only ever walked up one sealed road, Hardknott. I had a 39/25 then but I think I would need MTB gearing to stand a chance of riding it at the end of a long ride. You should be ok if you start at the north end of the route. Looking forward to epic report!

Yup. Sure is a tough ride and Hardknott is hardcore. But, as you say, starting nearer will help. We will still have Kirkstone near the end, but that is no where near as difficult as the Harknott-Wrynose double whammy!

Bring it on (as they say:) )

Hi Iain

That's great. There's only 4 of us going from the Johnstone area- me Robbie, Paul and you. Al and Simon will see us there. Jann might also see us there. So if you could get 4 and bikes in that would be great. But if not, Paul has also offered to drive. So, maybe me and Paul in his car and you and Robbie in yours, might be best.

Thoughts?
