Craig Haxton
Hi, I'm 20 and at the beginning of the year gave up middle distance running due to injury and illness. To maintain fitness I bought a road bike and have been riding about 30-40 miles 3-4times a week. I am wondering if there are any rides I could join and if so when and where do they start? Thanks, Craig
Richie Cross
Hi Craig, Welcome along If you have a look at the Club Runs section you'll see what's coming up or you can see what's been done previously. We have 3 groups - The 30 milers Intermediates Main Bunch Each group will differ in distances and speed although the 30 milers have came on a lot and can go further. That's usually the best place to start until you see where you are. Cheers

Mark O
Craig, Firstly welcome to Johnstone Wheelers. I'd second Charlie's comment regards joining the main bunch. Sunday's ride is to Troon and back. Steady pace over a fairly flat route. If you are doing 30-40 miles a few times a week solo you'll be fine.....and we'll look after you in any case. We meet at the club's premises on Miller Street, Johnstone, setting off at 9.00 am sharp. You don't say where you come from. If it's the Glasgow side of Paisley I'd be happy to meet up at Thomson Cycles on Sunday morning between 8.30 - 8.40. The yellow and blue of the club's colours are quite distinctive and not easily missed. Either way hope to see you Sunday. Just make yourself known and we'll buddy you up with someone. Craig Haxton
Thanks for all the replies and info. I'll come along on Sunday and see how I do. And I'm from elderslie so I have a pretty good idea of where you all meet. Thanks, Craig
Mark O
Left hand turn off imediately before the footbridge over the distributor road serving the Malcolm's depot. There will be a few heading to the clubrooms via Elderslie from Paisley. M
