2023 Subscriptions ginty001 Posted August 11, 2014 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted August 11, 2014 i'm guessing you mean stop in Kilcreggan , unless it's just random house doors we're gonna be chapping in Rosneath, or for a wee change we could pop into the Rosneath caravan park bistro

Richie Cross
Should be there....maybe....dunno. Haven't been out since the last time I blew up near Glen Fruin but in the absence of an intermediate run, I'll maybe see how far I last. DavieB
Guys, I won't be out either day, however just checked the BBC 5 day weather forecast and there are weather warnings ( high winds) posted for Sunday. Â On past form this will probably mean a calm, sunny day but worth noting. Â Maybe Saturday is the best bet. Â Davie
2023 Subscriptions AlanT Posted August 15, 2014 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted August 15, 2014 Forecast looks very breezy. If it's really horrible, I'll hit the turbo for a couple of hours.
Paul C
I'll be there. Wind can't be any worse than the gale I cycled through in Tour of the Borders last year

Guest EPCC
Maybe not as fast as one would have liked on the way out, but the way back was fun Weather apart for the wind was ok Darryl Gunson
2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted August 17, 2014 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted August 17, 2014 Much better day out than I was expecting. Got a bit wet and hampered by the wind at times, but all in all an enjoyable ride. Totally empty by the end:)
al yuille
Yeah, always better to go for it. Blustery but not too wet. Did you let Darryl ride on the front all the way back !
2023 Subscriptions Tom Hill Posted August 17, 2014 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted August 17, 2014 Ok Billy & flat ... Tom and directions!! 1055m of climbing so not pan flat but it was fast on the way back. Note to self - 50mm wheels and 40mph gusts over Erskine Bridge is not good for the underwear!!! Surprisingly good run considering my first choice was the turbo.
2023 Subscriptions ginty001 Posted August 17, 2014 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted August 17, 2014 fun day, turned out not quite as bad as the weather forecast had predicted, for a FLAT day my legs were pretty shredded by the time i got home, although that might have been partly to do with the beer and wine from last night
Paul C
A good turnout of 13. Weather not too bad but it was bit of a slog back to Lochwinnoch into the wind. Still, legs OK and 96 miles in the bag at 17 mph average. Yes Al - Darryl did spend a lot of time at the front on the way back from the bridge!
