fawlty
Hi thanks all for the advice. Just realised that I can access the Cyclescheme through work so I can buy something new tax free !! Dilema now is shiny new bike for circa £650 or 2nd hand for circa £400. Too much choice now. When I was a nipper (yawn!!!) it was a Raleigh 10 speed Take it or Leave it !! Tom ianjmcd
Richie Cross
Get the best you can unless you know it'll end up being a winter bike when you get something special next year!!! And remember you'll need the extras like helmet, shoes etc if you don't have them already.
ianjmcd
yeah richie thats my intention is use the carrerra as a winter/training bike maybe with a couple of upgrades then build a new bike next year

ebish
Hi Fawlty, I was in the same position as you a few months ago, I went for a specialized allez, which I love, and I have to say that the club itself really is the bees knees to get you going. You want to get in touch with the 30milers if you're just starting out, although it's a rough time of year for it.... all the best. Ewan.
