2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted May 9, 2021 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted May 9, 2021 Hi folks do any of you know where I could get a couple of ‘rivnuts’ fitted to a frame? Both cage bosses on Robbie’s frame are broken so need new ones fitted. Would only be a quick job for someone who knows what they’re doing. cheers
2023 Subscriptions P McDonald Posted May 9, 2021 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted May 9, 2021 Sorry, no, that sounds like a tricky one. I'm sure you've checked out google for solutions
2024 Subscriptions Darryl Gunson Posted May 10, 2021 Author 2024 Subscriptions Report Share Posted May 10, 2021 Yes, I’ve googled it, and it is a common problem. So hopefully a local person or shop can help. Problem is in two parts: drill/grind old rivnut out; fit new one (there is a tool that makes this easier apparently). I’ll ring around. cheers
2023 Subscriptions stuart10ant Posted May 10, 2021 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted May 10, 2021 Darryl, I know when I worked in Evans at braehead they had the rivet tool and a load of bottle bosses. Unsure whether they still do after the unit move a few years back but worth a shout Darryl Gunson

2023 Subscriptions Gerard Deeley Posted May 11, 2021 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted May 11, 2021 Arts Cyclery on YouTube has a quick video on this that works. But if you are looking at replacements then it may be too far gone for this fix. Darryl Gunson

Problem is the wholes thing is just spinning with the bolt in it.
