As previously posted in other posts....the revival of bunch rides is in advanced stages. Inspiration required!

Can I ask please that you tell me your favourite long ride. The usual format of the starting point,  a few points of interest which hint towards the route.

Clubhouse - Georgetown - bridge - Helensburgh - Kilcreggan ( via high Road)  - Glen fruin to return.

If you can slot in a short cut or " bail out" do tell.

Ill plan to plan and map a few over the coming weeks.

Kind Regards!

It has been a few years ago since we last did it as a club run but down to Mennock Pass and up to the radar station is one of the most memorable rides ive had.  There was 7 of us out that day and i think everyone either blew up or was close to it at some point in the ride!  Needs decent weather and a long summer day - big miles (130+), rolling grippy roads and pretty committing as there isn't much in the way of  bail out options.

From last year this was a cracker - could be done from the clubrooms  https://www.strava.com/routes/21264510

Clubhouse, bridge, pipetrack, Loch Katrine, variety of return routes is always good. One for the summer months.

The Loch Katrine road has been closed after some landslides a few months ago, and apparently there is some doubt as to whether it will reopen :(

That was a belter mate! I had to go into work after, was late and my gaffer took 1 look at me then ordered me never to do that again before duty! Could hardly tie my shoe laces.

I remember the look of despair you had when your garmin battery ran out near the end and there was a possibility that you had lost the ride!
