  1. Finally completed Accreditation 4 on Friday, despite the dreaded man flu surfacing. Looking forward to some track time but will be in France for two weeks, from next Saturday. Apart from the racing does anyone head up for the drop in sessions? I need to (greatly) reduce the effort to recovery ratio. I finished 3rd on the first elimination ride and then 2nd last on the next one in accred 4. Even allowing for my recent lack of ride time, it was a bit of a shock just how poor it was. Suggestions for some drills would also be appreciated. Thanks Tom
  2. CALL FOR RIDERS for COACHING AT THE NEW VELODROME WoSCA sessions at Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome: 4th and 25th Nov and 2, 9, 16 and 23 December Session time: 12 noon to 3.00pm Cost: to be confirmed, max £10 per session to include bike hire where required. I know I've asked Jets a couple of times for riders interested in riding the velodrome. Apologies for repeating the message, but we are now able to be more specific. The West of Scotland Cycling Association (WoSCA) has arranged track sessions at the new velodrome for youth members of our clubs. These will be structured coaching sessions, led by coaches from the Jets, Glasgow Riderz and East Kilbride Road Club. Sessions will be focussed initially on track accreditation and then further developing your track racing skills. Ideally we want riders to commit and pay for the full 6 week programme. The maximum number of riders and the cost per session is still to be confirmed, but to help us plan can you please reply to [email protected] by Friday 26th October? We will then work out club allocations of space and confirm attendees. Note Glasgow's policy is that riders age 8 and over can use the track, however other factors such as height and strength must be considered too. If you have any questions about whether this block 'is for you' please ask me. If you want to take part, please reply with the following information by 5.00pm on Friday 26th October Rider name: Date of birth: Flat track experience (e.g. Bellahouston) : none / some / lots Banked track experience: (e.g. Meadowbank, Glasgow): none / some / lots Racing on banked track: none / some / lots Sir Chris Hoy velodrome accredited: No / Yes. If yes, please specify which stage 1 - 6 you have reached Bike: own bike / would need hire bike Availability: please confirm how many / which sessions you would be able to attend.
