  1. wet wet wet. Good sized bunch for the new year including three Carols. Run was cut short at Cairn cafe where we blethered for about an hour. Most then headed home from there and me Carol C intended to accompany Graham and Gerard over Houston Road but took a wrong turn and ended up at Kilmacolm Golf club clubhouse. Sorry guys. Dave Planning to set up a whatsApp thread for 30 milers and other bunch runs. More details to follow.
  2. Happy New Year Easy paced 30-40 miles to get the new year started, around some local roads but the reverse of the usual routes. Leave Clubrooms 9.30am Miller Street, Johnstone. Cycle track to Bridge of Weir, Torr Road to Gateside, Auchenfoyle Rd to Auchentiber to kilmacolm. West Glen Road to Houston & Bridge of Weir for coffee. Open to all and if new to cycling, all you need to turn up with is a spare tube, tyre levers , pump ,money for coffee and your enthusiasm. Please post if coming, Dave

  5. Forecast looks like wet and stormy...so probably a day for the turbo/spin class. Will post up if forecast improves nearer time though. Dave

  10. Five left Miller Street, Boyd, Anthony, ĎaveF, Andy Ross and myself. Boyd pulled off at Kilburnie añd rest carried on to Tournament Cafe. Returned home via Jamestown Moss and Barmill in dry weather. Thanks for the wheels guys. Dave.
  11. Dry weather permitting, how about heading to Eglinton Park for coffee at Tournament Cafe again. 9.15 clubrooms Miller Street. Route : Cycle track to Kilburnie, industrial estate to Longbar, MOD road {new tarmac} to Blair Road, then into Kilwinning. Sensible pace and approx 45miles return. Please post if coming . Dave

  14. Thanks for the company today guys n girls. Six set off from Miller St, Anthony, Jaki, Tommy, Bill T and Katrina and battled to the Haylie Brae through a strong headwind. Katrina headed home as the rest made our way into the Bagel Basket for coffees, cakes and scrabbled eggs (eventually Jaki). Brisbane Glen on the way back, where we left Bill to make his own time. The sun came out and Loch Thom is spectacular in its exposed isolation. Dave
  15. More of an intermediate route, but at 30 miler pace. Clubrooms Miller Street 9.15am Cycle track to Kilbirnie, Largs Road and down Haylie Brae to Bagel Basket for cake. ( May meet up with Main Bunch) Back via Brisbane Glen and Kilmacolm Road. Please post up if coming. Dave

  17. How about another try for a run to the windfarm if dry. Leave Clubrooms 9 .15am. Miller Street Howwood, Lugton,Dunlop,Stewarton,Fenwick, cyclelane next to old A77 road and cut off to cafe stop at Whitelees Visitor Centre A steady climb on the way up to the windfarm and coffee and cake at the visitor centre, then a great descent to Newton Mearns and down through Barrhead on the way back. Distance is approx 45miles and suitable for newbies and oldies. Please post up if coming Dave
  18. Five out today, myself, Carol, Morna, Colin and newbie Dave F on his first bunch ride. Route was Georgetown to Bishopton via Dargavel Village to Monkeyhouse. West Glen to Kilmacolm and loop back to Finestra Cafe and met Iain McGinty just back from Largs.After coffee and cake headed to Lochwinnoch and then back along track. Only one shower throughout the 40 miles and a good introduction to the club for Dave F. Dave

  20. Hi Dave, Was thinking of coming out if the weather is ok and keeping it local ..Bishopton, Kilmacolm , Lochwinnoch etc. for 35-40 miles How about clubrooms . Miller Street at 9.15am if dry. Dave C
