GrahamF reacted to Mark O in Sunday 4 Jan Full Full Coast
Strange day on the road. Dead calm earlier, then a fine head wind into largs. Waited for Graham at the Bagel basket and stayed with him up the Hayle. Then tried to chase down those who had gone on ahead. Got within 100 metres of Paul C before he turned off the track and then got within 100 metres of 3 joansin who turned off the track at Kilbarchan. Damn fine work out despite running out of gas at the Hurlet and pootling home at a sedate pace. 85 miles done and extremely tired legs.
Spied Chung at eastwood toll. Highlight of the day!

As above. Missing the last 3 Sunday runs made a difference.
Wheel sucking from outside Largs all the way home
Got a bit of a second wind thanks to the tailwind that made an appearance at long last!!!!
Cheers for the wheels
Great effort by Paul L taking the 30 into Largs into a headwind!

Some fine racing from all our Jets at the Scottish national track league omnium today, including a storming performance by Hamish Maclaren to take 2nd place overall, 'racing up' against riders two years his senior.
Gutsy ride too from Adam Hazle, just pipped for a place on the podium.
Look out for the confirmed results for our older riders who were racing in the Womens and Youth/Junior races. I'll post these just as soon as they are available.

GrahamF reacted to AlanT in Sun 5th Oct, after Hill Climb, 30miler / Intermediate run
4 of us set out after the hill climb for a fairly gentle dawdle to Dunlop and nearly to Stewarton, back via barmill and Beith. Comfortable enough and glad of it since my legs were pretty much done after the climb. I guess that's the end of the season now. Just track league, Sunday runs nd Billy's training sessions to look forward to over the winter

GrahamF reacted to BoydJohnston in Sun 5th Oct, after Hill Climb, 30miler / Intermediate run
I'll probably be along for a run after the hill-climb, but I think I'll squeeze in a few miles beforehand rather than do the climb - getting too old and unfit to be inflicting the pain of a hill-climb on myself.

GrahamF reacted to Mark O in Sunday 14th Sept - Full Club Run
Well that went well, no? Fab turn out folks, great to see so many out in the blue and yellow. A pity that the jets were away in competition, would have been great to see some more young 'uns in the mix
7 new/old faces joined us today. Very encouraging to see potential members coming along and being made very welcome. Special mention for young Andrew out for his first ever bunch ride and doing fantastically. Hamish, what did you have for breakfast and is it UCI approved, and can we buy some. Looked very comfortable in the bunch at 12 years old - well done young man - (Chapeau Mul if thats the standard of Jet likely to graduate into the senior ranks in the coming years).
Thanks to Billy for looking after the first bunch. Highlight of the day for me, other than the riding, was standing in the BB (under new management) and listening to the amazing hubbub of cycling chat. Absolutely brilliant atmosphere.
Given the general positive reception these full club social rides get, I will aim at organising at least 2 a year. It is a good day when we all get out together.
Thanks to all those who turned out. All in all a fab day on the road.

GrahamF reacted to Alan McLean in National Track Scratch Champs, Dundee 7/9/14, the mighty Jets
Bucketful of medals for our youth riders in our own National Track Scratch Championships.
Hamish McLaren was Gold in Youth C (is this a formal national title? someone will tell me)
Danny M got Bronze in Youth A
The Youth A girls got a clean sweep in a very close race, the podium was flooded with blue and yellow.
Gold Jess Millar
Silver Luisa Steele
Bronze Gemma Penman
fantastic performance by the riders and we also have more great youngsters coming through.
Other highlights included the endless food and drink supplied by the Millar/Steele/Hazle Catering Co. Thanks, still recovering
A special mention also for Sarah Bradford who was representing Scotland this weekend at the School Games in Manchester and was a phenomenal second in the Madison with Rhona Callander and fourth in the scratch race against the very best young riders in Britan and several Olympic hopefuls (probably including her now. Ed.).
