Elaine Muirhead reacted to AlanT in Restricted Gear TT, Sunday 8th March
Sunshine, showers and a strong wind today meant times were never going to be fast. 11 hardy riders braving the conditions, 5 of them Jets. Best turn out we've seen for a few years.
David Cowan 38:36, paid
Fiona Davidson 37:35, paid
Kyle Maitland(J) 33:26
Fraser Elsby (J) 36:47
Martin Mulholland 37:22, paid
Andy Ross 39:59, paid
Ruaridh Mulholland (J) 38:59
James Ross (J), 36:12
Fraser Anderson (J), 42:13
Iain McTavish, 29:43, paid
Marc Kelly, 30:58, paid
Some great times there in the conditions, and congratulations to Iain McTavish for picking up the first silverware of the season. If someone can let me know the missing jets surnames, I'll update the list.
Thanks to all the marshalls, and to my glamorous assistant, Elaine Muirhead at the start/finish line.
I have £18 to transfer to the club account.

Elaine Muirhead reacted to gregbalden in The Big Summer BBQ - 16 August 2020
Good evening all.
We, the Johnstone Wheelers, are in the very fortunate position to be one of the only clubs in Scotland to have a purpose built clubroom, owned and operated solely by us!
So, why aren't we using this MORE?
I'm proposing we hold a big Summer BBQ at the clubhouse on the 16 Aug 2020 to round of the summer. This is open to all, members, family and children. A small fee would be payed in order to buy food and possibly some soft drinks. If you want a few beers BYOB. A short turbo challenge and a raffle would also be held.
This event would follow a short full club run.
So, the question is, who's in? And who's interested?

Great wee ride today with Karen, Fiona, Boyd and Alan. Headed to Bishopton, Port G, Kilmalcolm and home. A few wee extra detours to throw in some extra hills thanks to Alan. We even helped (sort of) the local farmers to move their sheep! Nice to see Iain for coffee in Kilmacolm.

Great wee run today with Karen, Anthony, Tom and myself. Headed to Port Glasgow then along the coast for a quick coffee in the BB. Up the Hailey Brae and back towards the clubrooms. Hopefully all made it home well before the rain started!

Sorry we weren’t there at 9am Davie.
Fiona, Andy, David C, Peter and myself decided on Windlees wind farm today via Stewarton and Fenwick. Coffee in Newton Mearns and home via Neilston and Uplawmoor.
There have been some requests for a visit to Dunoon and Peter suggested a ride for a couple of weeks time (28th) via Helensburgh, rest and be thankful, strachur and home. Just short of 100 and only if it’s nice!
Thanks for a good day all.

High street Stewarton is passable you have to go the pavement for 20 m that’s all

Elaine Muirhead reacted to KarenG in Sunday 14th July
Hey Elaine, I'm hoping to make it out on Sunday. Stewarton High Street (part of it) is closed for the next several months, and Aurs Road (joining Barrhead and Netwon Mearns) is closed this month also. Not sure if these are on your route, but heads-up just in case.

Worth checking out Hope Academy - basically its bike leasing for kids and as they get older you hand back the old bike and upgrade to a bigger size. Downside is not owning the bike however the components and frames are really good. Maybe a bit too blingy for taking to school every day though!

Elaine Muirhead reacted to Codg1e in Wednesday 12th June - Windfarm & Beith
Enjoyed that today! Good to see quite a few folk out to join us - thanks for coming along guys! Charlie, Marc, Robbie, Al, Iain, and myself headed to Barrhead, up the dams, up Bonnyton Moor & the wind farm (great views from up there!!) and enjoyed a tailwind all the way to Fenwick. Along the Kilmaurs Rd before heading to Stewarton for a nice cafe stop. Then we headed to Beith via Lugton and back to base via cycle path from Lochwinnoch. Not huge mileage but a bit hilly and enjoyable day. Weather dry and also a wee bit sunny for some of the route.

Elaine Muirhead reacted to chung in Sunday 9th June - destination Glen Douglas
2 groups making it a bunch of 9 set off in search of the promised sun-shine & hills over the Northside!
Got the hills but the sun only came out after we got completely soaked from Strathblane & into Killearn ..... boo ......... thankfully dry by the time we got to Fintry & the Crow!
Lovely cafe at Clachan of Campsies, then a blast back to the Bridge!
First time over the Kyber & the Crow for some, hope it’s not the last :-)
Thanks for the wheels & company today people!
Cheers
