  6. Jim Thanks for turbo session tonight. Can not make tomrrow forgot I had a lunch date with Jack Daniels Cheers Charlie
  7. Iain thanks for your thread. I bought cleats recently only to discover they did not fit my pedal. They looked darn similar to the ones I replaced. Can I extend the thread and ask what pedals are the best. The reason I ask is on one bike I have a very light time pedal but on another have a clumpy looking metal pedal. I feel more power goes through the bigger pedal. Opinions on cleats and pedals would be appreciated Charlie

    Sun 13th

On a cold frosty misty morning myself Campbell David Colin And Chung met at Miller street for a coastal run. Chung did take a bit of pursuading that it would be brighter in Largs. We set off on the cycle track through Kilbirnie & all was well. David took the first climb of the day just pipping Colin. The second hill climb was even stevens between david and myself but it all went horribly wrong for david on the third, Whilst looking for that extra throttle to take the stage he managed to shear off his rear mech something hanger ( sorry Chung I know you told me what is was but at my age the short term memory is not so good ) Anyway chain was knackered and David could only free wheel. We were a mile and a half from Kilwinning Railway Station so with a bit of assistance ( mainly from Colin we got him to the station ) . On route both David and Colin did a triple salko on the icy bridge entering Kilwinning. Both fell with great grace. Colin may now have another scar on the wounds he sustained last May. Having left David at the station we headed for Largs. My promise of clear skies did not materialise and if anything the fog got worse. We made the sensible decision to come off the Largs road and headed to Lochwinnoch via dalry. Colin keen to score brownie points with his missus cracked on home whereas myself Chung and Campbell stopped off at Lochwinnoch for coffee blt and cake. We met the Carrigan boys and Kenny Christie who had just descended from the mountains. They made us look positively pristine but they seemed to have had a great time wading through rivers etc. Chung returned to Johnstone on the cycle track with the mountain bike boys and Campbell and myself took the kilmacolm road. Great company and a great day despite the weather

    Sunday 22nd

Billy David and I did the Moscow loop today with a twist. having got to Moscow and having done the loop we missed the turn off and ended up on the A77 which I must say was a great road for cycling. We got back on track via Newton Mearns Neilston and Uplawmoor. Great day and great company. Made up for the disappointment of missing Arran

  22. David sorted after a visit to A& e at paisley. His injury looked like a machete wound to the thigh which is normal business for Paisley A&E but clad in my new Johnstone wheelers top I was able to convince them that he had in fact been scythed by a road safety barrier. Says he will be back next Sunday. 5 stitches by the way
