Heartily recommend the Kickr Core (Zwift also promote it for their platform as a top choice)

Billy missed the important bit about the neo…….you get to freewheel on the descents. That said anything off tarmac feels like riding through treacle. Watts up speed through the floor.

The flux is ok and will probably do all you need , but Taxc is now owned by Garmin so you have there customer service standards. What you need to do is decide what you want from the trainer , then buy the one that hits all your needs . The Neo is probably the best over 2000 watts , slope is great so any climb feels hard , plus you have road feel and the ability to use it un plugged, but are you going to use these features.

Ginty, I did a good bit of reading on the matter of direct drives, particularly tacx offerings. The flux did get a reasonable write up. However, the neo T2 generally is considered top of the shop time after time in reviews by users. I did a couple of comparison shop based tests on the kickr. Got to say it’s marginal but I am more than content with the neo T2. It has been a ‘joy’ to use. No issues whatsoever.
Like most things cycling there will be divided opinions but I can recommend the T2. A definitely expensive but if you can stretch the budget and find one then it’s worth the extra IMO.
If you want to try before you buy you’re welcome to drop in.

Nope. I’ve got the wahoo kickr smart, which does the job, but was maybe a bit more expensive than those when I bought it.

Tha Galston Leg bender sounds a bit much for me given my lack of cycling over the past month, so I'm gonna head to Aberfoyle and back with Tom whose in the same boat, 60 miles from the bridge to bridge, relatively tame pace.. Youse are more than welcome to join if you feel like an easier ride... Sorry, not meaning to hijack, just dont think ive got a hard day in my legs..

ginty001 reacted to AlanT in NEW: Wednesday evening social rides
7 of us set off from the clubrooms on a warm but windy summers evening. Stuart, Lauren, Dan, Alan, Kenny, Gary and me. Stuart and Lauren dropped out at Kilbarchan, but the rest of us carried on, staying together (mostly), helping out the riders that struggled with the hard bits, particularly once we got pas the 20 mile mark.
We had a great tailwind on the way out, but that made it a little tougher on the way back, especially on the uphill bits, however, we all arrived back at the clubrooms together. Pace was slow enough to chat, quick enough to stay warm as temperatures dropped.
A good start to the social runs.

ginty001 got a reaction from Richard in SRAM Cassettes
    Guys,
All spacers present and correct and cassette securely fitted.. the movement is indeed in a circular motion, clockwise and anti, no movement from in to out ...it is the cassette that came with the gravel bike, and i fitted the Hunt wheels almost immediately, only been riding it since last August so its still pretty new .. I suspect this movement is what has damaged the freehub.. I will reassemble on the new freehub and see how it looks...

I will give it a clean,  I wonder if I am allowed to use the dishwasher for it!  Then I can either leave it outside for you to get whenever or I can cycle over to you to drop it off.
