Alan McLean got a reaction from chung in Gravel ….. here I come :-)
Chung, thanks for bringing your cool bike today. Your teeny tiny 9speed cog is crazy small. 13 speed as well! All very cool niche Campy stuff, there can'y be another one in the country. You'll defo need to join the gravel bros.

Alan McLean got a reaction from Iain67 in Sunday 16th May Kilkreggan Loop
Excellent day with coffee in sun at Kilcreggan and post-ride beers in sun at Amaretto. And frites. Argyll and Clyde coast were stunning as ever. Carman Road out of Cardross and the little steep ramp over the railway at Old Kilpatrick (which I see now is named Thistleneck) provided some late hill action. My first real bunch ride since Feb 20.

Alan McLean got a reaction from Iain67 in Covid update, almost there
Hi all, committee are reading latest guidance and will post our views in next couple of days. It's important for public safety, our insurance and our club image and local standing that any official club activities, (especially those performed in club kit) comply with guidance. Thanks for your patience, could be a good end to summer!

Alan McLean got a reaction from Jannza in Anyone for a game of bike tig?
Jann, you are correct. The swirly brown filthy scum gives it away. But which one and where? Gerard is correct, bike is only 1m from tarmac. Lots of clues, flat field and pylon.

Oh boy. Definitely worth cracking a beer open for this one. We get Strava premium free in Kilmacolm, it comes with the Farrow and Ball paint catalogue.
or you can pay about two coffees per month to totally nerd out on segments. Join us down the rabbit hole. You know you want to. Take the red pill and see how the world really is...

Alan McLean got a reaction from martin in Anyone for a game of bike tig?
Hi Jane
thanks for asking.
Early in the crisis I asked people not to wear club kit if they felt they had to keep bunch riding because they would soon be seen as anti-social, if not downright criminal as was later govt policy.
It is now ok both legally and socially to go outside more to exercise so personally I am fine with people wearing club kit solo or with family but would ask members to follow govt advice re. groups and please don’t meet up yet. Looks like we are still some way off big club runs.
i went outside on bike this week for first time in ten weeks, it was great!.

Alan McLean got a reaction from George in Luddite Alert!
Hdmi/lightning cable as little as a tenner on Amazon so worth a punt.

Do you know which connections are on your phone and back of TV? If your kit is new enough to have lightning on iPhone and hdmi on TV then a lightning/hdmi cable would be cheapest option although the Apple ones can still be £50.
Streaming device would be more expensive but more versatile but again may only be able to plug into hdmi.

Alan McLean got a reaction from Jannza in Michael's Zwift APR 7pm 21/04
Much lol. My pm did not register at start so I began about 1 minute after first group. Was overtaken after 10 mins by fast guys. Then 20 minutes of full gas with Brookes(thanks) before I felt rain on my back and slid off rollers. The tubeless tyre punctured and sprayed me and roller with sealant creating real life skid hazard. That was a sign to give up. Very silly.

Alan McLean got a reaction from George in Zwift Etiquette
Dear Uncle Iain
I have done a few Zwift races. I tend to slither very quickly to the last third and find a slightly stronger rider to drag me to the final couple of k. I then reward them by going through very hard and trying to drop them before the finish. I usually gain a place, say from 40 to 39th. Am I flicking them or is appropriate virtual RR behaviour? It's certainly fun🤪
