I will be there, peaking on a jam and biscuit sugar rush, out of my face on espresso hoping for a fast time.

Darryl Gunson reacted to P McDonald in Saturday 26/06/21
Just to add to the colourful debate - it was Jan who dreamt up this one a good few years ago - big day out. As you can see on his Strava link we did the Mennock pass from the South which I reckon is best as psychologically you are a bit closer to home after the descent. Café stop at top of Mennock was very nice. I reckon when you get to Dungavel returning via Galston is best bet (don't listen to Archibald and his Eaglesham ) for simple reason roads are known and by that time you are thinking shortest way home !
Second café stop in Muirkirk always an option at the Greasy Spoon - home of the chicken burger. When we did it we didn't have a 2nd stop but did raid a supermarket in Darvel for as much chocolate and biscuits as we could eat.
Have fun

It’s been more than a while since I last ride out with the Joansin. So many new faces! Good to catch up with Darryl, Alan and Ian in the bunch and say hello to Chung, Carol and Mul.
Can’t say I’ll be a regular but will aim to get out once an a while.
Thanks for the company guys. Enjoyed the miles with you all this morning.

Darryl Gunson reacted to Gerard Deeley in Ride with Pippa York Tuesday 8th June
I would have been down first if it was not for a pesky puncture on those stupid council road blobs that pass for maintenance these days.
A great turnout of cyclists and the media. It was disturbingly left to me to speak to the BBC and the Scotsman, good job I can converse in fluent gibberish. A good blast round the Campsies with many cyclists. Followed by lunch with Pippa, where we heard a load of stuff about what went on in the pro peloton back in the days; plenty of names named and shameful behaviours. Nice to see Chung, it has been too long and new member Geo.

Good turnout today for the mural unveiling - after that a ride over the Crow and then a loop through Killearn and Strathblane and back to the start.
I’d like the record to state i was joint first to the top of the Crow - beating everyone else including the former Tour de France polka dot jersey winner in the process. A show of strength from Scotlands premier cycling club to the watching media.....I may have started 5 minutes before everyone else but it still counts 🤣

I was going to suggest incorporating a ferry or five in the coming weeks since weather finally getting better. Can't wait! I am at a friends Saturday night so hopefully won't be too rough on Sunday and hope to catch you at half 8. Looking forward to this!

Darryl Gunson reacted to AlanT in NEW: Wednesday evening social rides
7 of us set off from the clubrooms on a warm but windy summers evening. Stuart, Lauren, Dan, Alan, Kenny, Gary and me. Stuart and Lauren dropped out at Kilbarchan, but the rest of us carried on, staying together (mostly), helping out the riders that struggled with the hard bits, particularly once we got pas the 20 mile mark.
We had a great tailwind on the way out, but that made it a little tougher on the way back, especially on the uphill bits, however, we all arrived back at the clubrooms together. Pace was slow enough to chat, quick enough to stay warm as temperatures dropped.
A good start to the social runs.
