  1. A few of us are heading for downtown Johnstone tomorrow (Friday)for a few beers at Cone's Bar and a curry at Shimla Pinks. I know it is short notice, but since it is nearly the end of the holidays, it would be great if we could get a bunch out! Interested parties post a message or ring me and I'll reserve the table. I think eating for 8 o'lock sounds about right8) cheers Darryl
  2. Happy New Year everyone. Mark, myself and any others who fancy it will be easing our way back into the saddle after the festivities. Meet BIH tomorrow (Friday) at 10.30am for 2/2.5 hrs of steady riding with a coffee stop at the end. cheers Darryl
  3. just in case there is any confusion over the coast run proposed by Paul. We did it today, even though it actually says the 28th. Good run too McG
  4. Hi Paul afraid the weather forecast looks a bit wet for the Saturday, but I'm up for it anyway. I think Stuart will be too. Happy Christmas Darryl
  5. Congratulations on putting together a credible alternative to the SCU calender - it looks great with something for everyone. Hope to make it to some of these myself. Cheers Darryl
  6. Kenny do you have any guidance for us on the sizing of the Kit? i think you've got my order for : bibshorts size 3; s/s 3/4 zip top size 38" chest; Skin suit (not sure of size). Are they cut large or small Ken? cheers Darryl

  9. Highly enjoyable weekend leaving us all keen to do more of that sort of thing. Hope someone managed to write down Martin's suggestions for future social events as they all sounded great to me, possibly due to the combination of being under the influence with the prospect of other beer-related social activities to come. Let's make it an annual event eh? cheers Darryl P.S. great report Dougie
  10. For what it's worth, here is my view as to what we should do. :? 1. We should try and stay as a bunch for the whole outing, with the proviso that Harry will meet us on the island. It's just more fun (and easier cycling) that way 2. We should go for the 9.45am ferry to maximise our time on the island. 3. How to get there? Car if you wish, but if, like me, you want to cycle to Ardrossan, then I suggest leaving a bit earlier than 8am. The reason for this is that the 'safer' route (alternative to the A737) may take longer than 1.5 hours (at tourist pace). But more importantly, after Sunday's run, we all know how important it is to leave enough time to mend a puncture or two or three or.... I therefore suggest that we make it 7.30 at the bird, just to be on the safe side. 4. There are many ways to get to Ardrossan, but the route I favour is throught Lochwinnoch to Kilbirnie and then on the B780 to Dalry where we go over the moor and drop down into the port. This is pretty much what I will be doing on Saturday morning cheers Darryl
  11. Dougie, can we not ride to the ferry and ride round the island? Do we know what time the ferry runs, or is it just the two - 9.30 and 12.30? My preference is to ride to Ardrossan and ride around the island. cheers Darryl
  12. Hello Dougie, Mark tells me that Craig Leckie is interested in going, also could you give Mark a bell on 01505 329309. see you at the w/e? Darryl
