And great performances from Big Al (win) skinny Al (2nd) and Billy (2nd and 3rd) in C's
And Lewis with a 2nd in B devil.
Not too sure of jets results as was warming up whilst they were racing.

Intervals, intervals and more intervals. Better to have good base though.
1 min on 1 min off something like 2 sets of 10 mins. Intervals at 90% max heart rate or your power equivalent.
30 secs on/off slightly more effort.
Full on sprints for 15secs each minute on the minute. 2 or 3 sets of 5.
Then start combining sessions into one longer.
Must have good warm up. Must have full recovery between sessions which for the more experienced gent would be a couple of days min if done properly.
Short sharp and sore road to short term fitness.

Sounds splendid, sorry I'll miss it, we'll maybe not that sorry as I'll probably do the Costa Blanca equivalent that day before watching Paris Roubaix.........

Fantastic job by Grieg and Elaine. And Kenny S as always providing the links and background work. Excellent turnout for a great club. One record of Rita's that I forgot to mention and will likely never be broken is her 70 years of active membership of JWCC ! Chapeau indeed.

 

Johnstone Jets rule ok. The most prominent club in the juniors and sections of the seniors.

Anyway, a smaller turnout than usual from JWCC and jets but still plenty jets but only me and Alan in the seniors.
Katie won one of the partnered youth races which was inspiring and magnificent.
It inspired Alan to 3rd in one of the keirens.
It inspired me to win a Kieren and get 3rd in two others.
Great fun having the change to Kierens for a night.

 
 
 

Entered for the sprint night, which talking to Jeanette should be a mix of Kierens and devils. She is trying to get 3 Kierens for everyone.
Something different and what better way to spend a Wednesday night?

Lewis - won the B devil - also outstanding
Richard - =3rd in B points - and he said he was just going to experiment with gears!
Me - 4th in B scratch

I plan to put the 2013 race on entrycentral tonight. I will not announce on Braveheart until Friday night so y'all have plenty time to enter, it might fill up quite quick as I have had a few inquiries already.

Utterly brilliant session, I'll send a note of thanks to Brian and Gordon for the excellent and innovative coaching.
The idea of ' secret' objectives for the scratch race was superb for getting everyone involved in a team mission.
I'm going to try booking through the SC route as I'm sure we could open to Fullarton, Ayr, et al to make up a similar session.

I have made the booking but await final confirmation date is still available.
We have 9 definites, and I think I'll declare Jann as official photographer who who might just happen to have a wee shot!
Spoke to a few others last night and will probably fill most of remaining slots with similar ability riders from other club

UPDATE - IT IS POSSIBLE
There are 2 slots available before Christmas. Sun 23rd either 3-4pm or 4-5pm.
I propose 4pm - 5pm as it would seem less intrusive later in day. Need a quick response one way or other - just as useful to know if any of the regulars can't make it.
If I can get 15 replies by say Thursday then I will get it booked (if still available).
