P McDonald reacted to thejanullrichdietplan in Seven weeks
State of play:
Archie has spent all winter at various hot weather training camps so should hit the spring in peak form. However he has also spent the winter annoying everyone so every breakaway attempt will be chased down by eager volunteers.
Gregg is now a wheeler so will that mean everyone is racing for 2nd in the sprints?
Billy is knocking out 1200watts standing starts at the track...if he could just wait a bit longer to unleash that power with about 100m to go he could be a contender
Richie, Darryl and Paul are all flying and about to get faster again after their trip to Spain
Marc, at the start of the ride will be telling everyone how he not been doing much and is really unfit...but then over the next hour will rip everyones legs off
Charlie back in form and as a wheelsucker par excellence will be difficult to shift along the Georgetown
Stuart has been getting some good results at cx so he could be the bunches van der Poel and van Aert
Jess will find out if giving birth is the equivalent of taking EPO in terms of the impact on red blood cells
George has promised to be utterly dominant and I have no reason to doubt his word
Not seen Galeb, Robbie, Paul and Sam out on the bike for a while, i can only assume this is due to lots of secret training!
The rest of us? well the only positive i have to say is that we've still got 6 weeks to get fit

P McDonald reacted to XXX in Mont Ventoux
Stay in Bedion at the foot of the long classic way up. There are three ways up I have done all 3 but the classic route from the car park in the town is the best and most well known, from there it’s fairly gentle out through the town then after a few Ks you take a turn and the mountain starts proper , through the wooded section with the average slope every 1k just to tease you , after what seems like an age you come out at the chateaux and you see the top and now it can be really hard if the wind is blowing if not it’s just hard summit is just over 2100m I think.
Orange is another fairly close town and within riding distance , your mate could try and join the three routes club by riding all three in a day but Bedouin is definitely the best route
If he wants a longer challenge ride the stage of a few years ago fro Vallence along the river then through some up and down country

P McDonald got a reaction from Richard in Super Saturday 11.1.20
We never really post the weekly track reports any more so I thought I'd post a random one to encourage anyone sitting on the fence to make a return,
Super Saturday B/C group results today showed a good presence of JWCC in the top 5 and the return of Jan McT to the type of form he was on a couple of years ago,
Tempo : 1st Jan, me unclassified
Points: 3rd Jan, me 4th
Scratch: 2nd Me, Jan unclassified
Devil : Jan 3rd, me 4th
So for those of you who have been there done it (Sam, Stevie, Alan, Alan, Darryl, Charlie, Billy, Richard etc etc) and anyone thinking about it, this is a great way to spend a very grim Saturday afternoon
Familiar picture on scoreboard below

Posting up early in an attempt to revive our dead parrot main bunch ride.
09:30 at club rooms. Businesslike pace. Track to Kilmalcolm-down Whinn-Spango-Largs-Kilwinning-Home.
Open to all, including Bogs Fetishists, Erskine Bridge CC, Cliquey Velo and any other splinter or sub-splinter groups. 😉

P McDonald reacted to Galeb in The gallop on a break
Hope you all are okay and that someone is making sure there is enough suffering happening on these winter rides
The galloping Galeb is on a bit of a break at the moment and may return soon.
Merry Christmas for now!

P McDonald got a reaction from Ramsay in Tenerife Cycling Base
Just noticed this Ramsay. I've been to Los Gigantes 3 or 4 times over the years. Once you get off the main drag there is some pretty amazing cycling, however it is very hilly up at Los Gigantes. As in you only need 2 gears, a 34-28 and a 52-12 !
Not really any flat run options except the coast road which is busy. All depends what you are looking for.
cheers

P McDonald got a reaction from Darryl Gunson in Camp Casa XXX 2020
I have booked Friday 28th 0615 Easyjet from Glasgow and returning 1555 on Wed 4th March. Just so I can see George on the Friday and get all his brilliant patter to myself
Think Darryl doing same. No accommodation booked until we see if a few others going and we can get a villa or such like.

P McDonald got a reaction from AlanT in Bellahouston Crit 5th October
Well, in my head I had an excellent result.
However in reality I had 100k with a resurgent McGunson and big Al from couriers. Judging by my TSS score and my legs squeaking I think the crit would have been easier

P McDonald reacted to Gerard Deeley in Joe Brunetti Hill Climb Championship, Sunday 29th Sept.
Fantastic event well run, with some fantastic times and some quality finish line flag waving on the short climb. I am wondering if I need to start carrying ID now I am a Jet.

P McDonald reacted to Ian Archibald in Joe Brunetti Hill Climb Championship, Sunday 29th Sept.
I think to spice it up next we should have to repeat every half hour until the Jets crumble and I beat Paul McD.
Great event. Thanks to the organisers.
