  1. Thought it worth mentioning another astoundingly brilliant day on Arran where 5 of the 7 riders were JWCC members (although one missed the memo to wear the jersey😀) 3 new inductees to the Hall of Fame were Sean Delaney, John McGivern and Mark Cushley who are all regular Saturday bunchers, repeaters in the Hall of Fame were David Archibald, Richie Provan, Garry Dunn and myself so chapeau to all, 5 of our number finished a bit ahead and took the Island Loop KOM by a chunky margin on a near perfect day with virtually no wind. The weather was so brilliant it was a shame all we could really view was a 700x25 GP5000 and a rear hub !! The legend grows and I see another double taking shape in my crystal ball. Get training hard because you know you want to, Forza Arran Forever !

The flux is ok and will probably do all you need , but Taxc is now owned by Garmin so you have there customer service standards. What you need to do is decide what you want from the trainer , then buy the one that hits all your needs . The Neo is probably the best over 2000 watts , slope is great so any climb feels hard , plus you have road feel and the ability to use it un plugged, but are you going to use these features.

Ginty, I did a good bit of reading on the matter of direct drives, particularly tacx offerings. The flux did get a reasonable write up. However, the neo T2 generally is considered top of the shop time after time in reviews by users. I did a couple of comparison shop based tests on the kickr. Got to say it’s marginal but I am more than content with the neo T2. It has been a ‘joy’ to use. No issues whatsoever. Like most things cycling there will be divided opinions but I can recommend the T2. A definitely expensive but if you can stretch the budget and find one then it’s worth the extra IMO. If you want to try before you buy you’re welcome to drop in.

  5. Martin, you missed two more puncture to Gary's front wheel before Lochwinnoch. He had to walk to the station but I believe he has now found the culprit. A piece of flint or glass...these things happen in cycling. Good day nevertheless.

  6. Nice wee run this morning, even if I wasn't at my best 🍺 > 🥵 Sorry I left early, but downhill to BoW was much more appealing than uphill to Lochwinnoch. Hope the coffee stop was good. Cheers for the wheels.

  7. Just read that Eileen has won another Olympic medal in the tandem pursuit at the Paralympics. Congratulations to Eileen, who many of you will remember is a past member of JWCC. I have fond memories of some of the runs when she and Denis (White) turned out on the tandem. Chapeau!
