  1. It’s not hard to be safe, even on a training ride. Those at the front need to be mindful of the effects of their actions on those behind. So, for example, when approaching roundabouts or junctions the object should not be to sneak through, but to ensure that the bunch can get through. This may mean stopping. The whole point of this bunch was that it was to be a bit more controlled and accessible than the Renfrew Bunch. Even though there are now points to be won, it is not a race and should not be ridden as though it is. Cheers

  2. A big call out to everyone within the Johnstone Wheelers family. This year I am organising the Sam Dooley TT and in order to make it a massive success for our club we need lots of volunteers. Required for the day will be a signing on crew, timekeepers, marshals placed at important points on the course and general helpers at Bishopton Community Centre. If anyone has previous experience of any of these roles then let me know. Also on the day we will need a generous donation of the usual foodstuffs for all of the riders, helpers and any other cycling groupies. Post up below if you can help out, or PM me if you prefer.

Regarding rotation direction, I don't think we should be changing it during ride. It does help a little with hiding from the wind but not worth it on a training ride...its all a bit of fun and a bit more wind resistance makes for a harder session...no pain no gain.

  9. Massive kudos for taking on the task, Gerard! I’ll be along for marshalling! If it’s ok, I’ll take my usual spot on the A8 on the slip road junction (for the Bishopton roundabout) right before the finish please! Cheers Chung
