Six souls faced tonight's biblical conditions to fight for that much desired end of season chocolate bar. It should have been a fast night. Alan got a season's best. He is in full training post retirement but doesn't plan a taper until his return from Calpe. Hardcore.

Major thanks to Colin, Ian and James tonight for officiating, and then hanging about in the rain waiting for us coming back in. Apart from the rain, conditions were pretty good tonight. I have £15 to transfer to the club account.

Really, really miserable conditions tonight which does motivate you to get it over and done with as quickly as possible. But not Stuart’s way, just bad luck there. Thanks to James, Ian and Colin for timekeeping and holding up tonight.

Davie, Would be up for a short tour with minimal bike packing and not that keen on camping, the less you take luggage wise the more you will enjoy riding the bike. With regards to future foreign trip ...given my experience of a couple of days in Netherlands it's a great way to spend time on the bike. I would happily do another trip either in the Netherlands - the bike lanes are better than you could ever imagine - or further afield. Goggle maps if set for bike lanes / bike routes proved pretty much idiot proof for my short trip.,

Camped last night, family has got a cottage in port Ellen so staying there tonight, camping again in Tayvallich

Im away just now, cycled to Ghigha yesterday via Arran and Campbeltown, over to Islay today, Tayvallich tomorrow and Home via Arran on Monday, I could be up for a couple of nights over glasgow fair weekend.
