Camped last night, family has got a cottage in port Ellen so staying there tonight, camping again in Tayvallich

Seeing if there is anyone else interested in doing a bit of touring with wild camping flung in. Next summer hoping to do 5 nights or so with approx. 50/80 miles a day, possibly heading over to Orkney / Shetland Isles. This year thought I might do a taster with 2/3 nights a bit more local, probably a long weekend in July. Anyone else have a similiar interest?

Charlie and I will be riding down to the ferry for a steady ride on the Cowal, on Wednesday. 8.30 at BoW viaduct on the track. All in maybe 90 miles. Come and join us.

Planning to ride in the Georgetown league on Wednesday, or I would.

On Thursday there weren't enough riders for split groups. I enjoy the Thursday chain gang especially as riders with completely different agendas can all ride together. I personally want to do as little work as possible until the Clune. After the Clune gloves come off and on the Georgetown it's great to alternate between making the whole GT hard or sitting in for the sprint, or going for a late break. Whatever I try it doesn't work of course. Billy told me yesterday he always goes long on the sprint because if he went short with his 1400 watts no-one would stand a chance. Also the Renfrew Bunch on a Tuesday is great for 40km eyeballs out from the gun. Some folks start at the top of Bishopton and go up the Heggies. They save everything for the GT sprint.They know who they are

Im away just now, cycled to Ghigha yesterday via Arran and Campbeltown, over to Islay today, Tayvallich tomorrow and Home via Arran on Monday, I could be up for a couple of nights over glasgow fair weekend.

this appeals to me, but not sure how much time I would have next year, could possibly do a long weekend ….
