  1. Ironman

    Paris-Brest-Paris 2019

Can’t be long till first qualifying ride? First PBP top tip. One week before my first qualifying ride I would always replace all brake & gear cables, chain & rear sprocket. Then I would be using it to & from work for that week to get the gears set up & fine-tuned. It would also be set up with what lights I will be using. Water bottle cages. Bags I use a rack & a rear rack bag of a suitable size that will expand & take all your clothes when its warm during the day. This way you get the feel of the bike. The qualifying rides are when you fine tune what you are going to take for cloths I would have with me The comfiest pair of shoes, Socks, thin longs, shorts, vest t-shirt, short sleeved top jwcc, arm warmers, Gilet, light weight long sleeved top, thin water proof (yellow in my opinion), thin skull cap, helmet & fluorescent yellow vest for night riding & if wet (this is the law in France) fingerless mitts & full gloves Autumn. One spare pair of shorts. It may sound daft but you do not wish chafing so make sure your clothes fit well. Once sorted out I would only use these clothes for Audax or long training rides. Campbell

  2. Yeah enjoyable night Didnt have the best of seasons results wise. Probably the worst drop off in results of any regular in the history of the track league - fell about 100 places in the table! But still the best way to spend a wednesday night in the winter Well done to Cedric for winning the overall!

  4. As Alan says - Bowfield, Lugton, Dunlop, Stewarton. Then onto Kilmaurs, Knockintiber, Crosshouse, Gatehouse, Dundonald, Barassie Troon (cafe of choice). Return via Loans and the reverse of the outward route to Kilmaurs then a sortie out towards Fenwick (I'll bale out here) and then onto Stewarton, Dunlop, Luggie and Bowfield. A variant would be to head for Stewarton then take a right at the cross, up Glasgow Road/Dubbs Road and follow the sewing bee route back. I'm guessing 65 miles. Turns will no doubt be shouted out as we get to them.

    Track league 20 March

Track league over for another year, good night to end in C group and Jan in B group showing some flashes of his last winter form. In C's we had good JWCC presence with Sam 3rd in devil and 2nd in points. In the first scratch race we got a 1,2,4 with me getting the win and Sam and Stevie in p3 and p4. In the other scratch I was 3rd. Roll on Arran challenges and Thursday night chain gangs
