  4. I’ve posted minutes in section above. main points are to give thanks to the guys who have volunteered to organise the Sam Dooley TT, (Gerard Deeley), and the Don Smith (Paul, Eric and David). Please support them and the events. we are still looking for an organiser for the Jim Daly RR, date tbc, so please step forward if you’d like to help. There is a huge amount of experience that other club members can share with you. Also thanks to Colin Sales who has kindly volunteered to maintain the main web site and refresh our public image. Our late good friend and riding partner Alex Baird previously looked after the site which is once again in good hands. Alan McLean Secretary, JWCC

  15. Hi Alan, It was indeed a debate that I had with myself for a while, but in the end I chose these lovely White Industries hubs, they are beautifully made & bearings are smooth as butter ...... but it ain't cheap though :-0 The problem is the frame & old parts are porky, the frame + fork alone is a hefty 2.5kg , so I have to save weight on the wheels. Trying to get the whole bike under 8kg, not optimistic though. With Campag hubs only offering 32h as it's lowest (now & in the past, disregarding factory built wheels of course) plus the new ones only comes in black. I really wanted shiny silver hubs with low spoke count (these being 20 front & 24 rear) so these WI fits the bill perfectly (upon recommendation from Richard M) Front radial laced & rear 3 cross, I just hope they'll be as good as I make them out to be By the way, I'm running tubular rims with these ........ your favourite wheel subject I know ....... I should have these wheels built by next week (not me, getting a proper bike mechanic to build it) & hopefully the whole bike finished by then too. It's been a fairly long process. But like you said earlier, I'm going to feel "sad" & lost once it's finished, so I'm stretching it out as long as possible, but at the same time I want it finished sooner rather than later .......... isn't life a b*tch? Cheers

  16. Ginty, Like Charlie said AARGH (again). Hope you're on the mend. On the up side, that'll be another new bike from the compy. I'm sure there's a good lawyer that'll argue you a decent case. Take it easy M

  18. Had a wee run in with a car on my commute home from work yesterday, spent most of last night in the hospital getting checked out, X-rays show no broken bones, so no lasting damage, just pretty sore, mainly my back, with a few other minor injuries, so won’t make it out this weekend ..
