2023 Subscriptions gregbalden Posted April 18, 2014 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 18, 2014 I propose a run to dunoon. Catch the ferry, someone who knows the times would be so kind to post, 9 or 10 or something? - ride down, ferry, over loch tarzan climb, then onto strachur. Stop for some nosh at baytea room cafe, then back to dunoon and ferry home. Potential options include, loch tarzan climb then to strachur, stop and take in the whistlefield climb on route to the ferry. Or as the title says, the 30 milers and intermdiate bunches join in the ride to the ferry, ( or drive ) all head off, the 30's and ints go straight to strachur and we all meet there for nosh! Working 20/04 and 4/05 so will miss both other runs. Greg.
Life Members chung Posted April 19, 2014 Life Members Report Share Posted April 19, 2014 Excellent idea Greg! I should make it along for that. Dunoon is one of my favourite run after Roubaix of course ! :-) Cheers Chung

2023 Subscriptions gregbalden Posted April 22, 2014 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 22, 2014 Ok doke. Let's firm up some plans. 0930 ferry, meet at miller street, a tad earlier for some planning on riding down. 0830. Direct route, down the track to the top of the clune, then coast down to the WESTERN FERRIES, the wee red one. Tickets can be bought at the wee shop before hand. I reckon bottom of the clune for 9am? Latest? Any disagreement here? I hope to see more faces out than what's posted Greg
2023 Subscriptions gregbalden Posted April 22, 2014 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 22, 2014 As for tickets. Ill buy the book of 20? Tickets from the shop, saves some cash for us all and we'll sort it on the ferry. Can some one post the price for this, I can't actually remember Greg

2023 Subscriptions gregbalden Posted April 22, 2014 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 22, 2014 Just realised about the tickets, if your there at the shop we can all chip in. If not, sorry. I don't want to buy some and miss others and then have a rammy on the boat. Just thought I'd clear that up. Greg
Administrators Jannza Posted April 22, 2014 Administrators Report Share Posted April 22, 2014 Last time I bought from shop £4.60 return, on the ferry was £7.50 return. May have gone up since then.

2023 Subscriptions thejanullrichdietplan Posted April 22, 2014 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 22, 2014 Hope to make it out, Dunoon is one of my favourites too. Are we doing the C11 climb?
Life Members chung Posted April 22, 2014 Life Members Report Share Posted April 22, 2014 Greg, I think catching the 9.30am ferry would be tight even with a 8.30am Miller Street start. The 10am ferry is more realistic me thinks. Anyway, what's the weather forecast like for this Sunday? Cheers Chung
2023 Subscriptions gregbalden Posted April 22, 2014 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 22, 2014 Yeh that's fine chung,I'm easy with that. White cloud, nothing special. Hopefully dry. Iain, maybe. We can see on the day, would need some extra direction to keep us on route for that one haha. Greg
Richie Cross
When are we likely to arrive back at Gourock? Ta
2023 Subscriptions gregbalden Posted April 22, 2014 Author 2023 Subscriptions Report Share Posted April 22, 2014 Depends on the route we go. In the event of a c11 detour that's probably an extra 1.5 hours I'd reckon. Maybe half 3 or 4, that's normal route, dunoon, loch tarzan, strachur, dunoon. Jodyc
Excellent idea Greg, Any other 30 milers or Intermediates going for this ? Fancy getting a long run in especially with Drumlanrig only 6 days after this. In anticipation Jody
Administrators Jannza Posted April 22, 2014 Administrators Report Share Posted April 22, 2014 For anyone wanting a shortish run, ferry to cafe and back is 38 miles. Club to ferry is 20ish miles (each way) One of my favourite rides but I'm working
