  1. Toshiba regza 32", 2 hdmi inputs. Good for your turbo room?
  2. Enjoyed joining the bunch as far as Stewarton. Cheers Billy for towing me back on after I was dropped like a stone on the Bowfield. Me and the other Flandrian wannabes followed a lumpy route home, finishing with the Shilford hill. Equally as slow on that hill.
  3. Did someone say campag? You know me Darryl, will be delighted to take veloce mech off your hands. Will bring a bottle from Flanders in exchange.
  4. Nice wee run this morning, even if I wasn't at my best 🍺 > 🥵 Sorry I left early, but downhill to BoW was much more appealing than uphill to Lochwinnoch. Hope the coffee stop was good. Cheers for the wheels.
  5. Pretty sure you are right there Alan. Young ones are getting faster.
  6. Sorry to hear that G, hope all goes well in theatre.
  7. Received this message to our FB account this evening. Well done to the two "incredibly lovely, considerate and polite" riders, whoever you are. Warm glow all round.
  8. Hi Wheelers, former Jet Eilidh Fleming is seeking your help with her final year uni dissertation (don't they grow up quickly?). Please read below and click the link if you have 15 minutes to spare, thank you. ….... Hello! I am currently in my fourth year of psychology at the University of Edinburgh. For my undergraduate dissertation project, I am researching the motivations and barriers in outdoor and virtual cycling and racing. I am looking for people to participate in my questionnaire. You will be asked about your attitude to sport, cycling experience both outdoors and indoors, motivations for taking part in cycling activities and any barriers you perceive to taking part in cycle races. It will take no more than 10-15 minutes to complete and can be done either on your phone or laptop. If you have any spare time over the weekend, I would really appreciate your participation. Link to the questionnaire below: https://edinburgh.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0GOdjidUcp2EjB4

    Farewell

Davie, Logged into the bunch for the first time this year and shocked and stunned to see your post at the top of my feed. thank you for sharing with us. Can only echo the words and affection shared by others in the memories above. Here's a couple to add: SantaCross at Mull in 2011 (your concession to santa costume just showing through your helmet) and with a breakfast swally at LBL in 2015. A connoisseur of campag and belgian beer. very best wishes, mul

  13. Hi all, an enquiry from bike radar. Any of our more mature members know anything? Hello Johnstone wheelsers! My name is Jack Luke and I am the Assistant Editor at BikeRadar.com I hope you’re doing well and had a nice weekend? A quick question – a friend of mine recently became the custodian of the Kinross CTC club hut: https://www.cyclinguk.org/group/post/hut https://www.instagram.com/p/CDrYQkuFSOh/ I am fascinated by these huts and their history. They sit outside of the bothying tradition and very little has been written about them. I recalled that, in Ian R Mitchell's book 'Walking through Scotland's History', that a number of cycling clubs had huts at Carbeth. Alonside the Clarion, the Carbeth Hutters association believe that the Lomond Roads and Johnston Wheelers had a presence there. Do you, or does anyone in your club, know about any hut that the club owned or maintained at Carbeth (or elsewhere) before your current clubhouse? I’m in the early days of researching this piece but putting feelers out for now. I hope to hear from you soon. All the best, Jack Luke Assistant editor, BikeRadar.com
  14. Cheers Darryl, these look really tidy and tempted to go for the lot. (not sure I should be on 32 spoke wheels after 4 months of lockdown though). Will pm you to arrange to pop round, thanks.
  15. Ha! Just seen my typo. Can you send me a couple of photos @Darryl Gunson please?
  16. Hi Paul, 2 sets here. Note the original skewers are gone so you would need to use your own ordinary front wheel ones. Much narrower diameter than those that came with the kit but I ran like that for a couple of years with no issue.
  17. Thanks Darryl, sorry for not keeping up with this conversation, been working too much. Can you ping me a clue of photos please?
