Weather permitting, I'm going to try and fit in a ride on Wednesday or Thursday - a steady 50 miles or so, leaving from the West End at a civilised hour. It'll be a Crow-Tak loop or down the A82 to Aberfoyle if I go on my own, but I could be tempted over the river for a bit of company.
Dunno what the score is with midweek runs and people who work sensible Monday-to-Friday, nine-till-five days. Thought I'd ask and see. Get in touch if you fancy it.

Richard,
I'm a possibility for Thursday, weather permitting.... Wouldn't mind a wee run out to Aberfoyle, and a climb up Dukes Pass ..... Will post on Wednesday night if it's a goer .. If it is, i'd probably take the car over to Bearsden or Milngavie, as i need to be back in Paisley for 3'ish...
Cheers Ian.......

Hi what do you consider a resonable hour? I finish university at 1100 on Wednesday ( these long days at uni are very stressfull ) so I could get you in the westend at about 1130? If thats too late its ok.
P.S i will be loaded down with uni stuff so wont be going much more than 17 on the flat.
Thanks David

Ta for the replies, chaps - two more than I thought I'd get.
David, 11 is actually earlier than I'd like. It would normally be fine, but I've been up at 5:00am for four out of the last five days and could do with a long lie. Sorry. If you ever fancy a midweek run, though - if I've not totally offended you - feel free to send me a PM. I've at least two days off Mon-Fri most weeks.
Ian, I'll stay off the bike tomorrow and hold out till Thursday. If you're free, we can decide on a meeting point near Milngavie.
Thanks again.
Richard.

Hi Richard,
I'm a wee bit confused , you say to David that 11 a.m is too early, but I was looking to go out at 10'ish. Are we getting our wires crossed ??
Cheers

Richard and I enjoyed a truly Trossachtastic wee run out to Aberfoyle today in glorious winter sunshine, the views from the top of Dukes Pass were sensational with snow covered tops in abundance .....

Hi, Kay. I'm kind of looking for steady to brisk runs of 50-60 miles. Is that faster and further than you'd be comfortable with? What d'you reckon? Either way, the offer is much appreciated.
Probably free this Tuesday, incidentally...

9 at the bridge is ideal,
guessin at that time in the morning we'd be better off the side roads, but can finalise it tommorow

Tuesday 16th March, anyone? 40-50 miles; leaving from the West End or Johnstone or pretty much anywhere else; very steady - no heroics.

Anyone for Thursday 4th (in the afternoon) or Friday 5th? Not too fussed about route, starting point or mileage - pick a number between 40 and 60.
Fingers crossed that someone replies cos this thread's starting to make me look like a friendless, jobless layabout.

Alan, at least 900 of the views were down to me. Oh, the long, lonely nights I've spent looking at this thread! Perhaps no-one wants to cycle with me because I can't get dates right.
Jim, I'm prepared to plan around the weather conditions, too. Let me know what you think nearer the time, eh?

Richard/Lance
How about provisional 10:30am at South Side of Erskine Bridge and heading into Renfrewshire/Ayrshire?
I have an aversion to the North side not helped by breaking my 3months old bottom bracket there on Sunday.

Not much chance of me making it out tomorrow. I rode this afternoon: Killearn, Fintry, TOTW, Kippen, A81 and home. The wind was unreal. It was a struggle to keep the bike moving between Kippen and Ballat Toll even though I was using a gear that would normally only see action on the Clune. I'm shattered.
Hope to be back for Saturday (maybe the forecast for heavy rain is wrong.)
